Shaping the future exploration of space, with technologies using local resources and the recycling of existing materials in combination with additive manufacturing (3D printing): this is the goal of the "3D4Space" innovation association, which started up in May 2017. Ostfalia's Institute for Recycling is conducting research together with TU Braunschweig's institutes for Engineering Design and Particle Technology and the Institute of Transportation Design of the Braunschweig University of Art (HBK). The project is funded by the state of Lower Saxony and the European Union.
