About Us

Since its foundation in 1991 the institute has developed into one of the strongest research institutes in Ostfalia University. The main focuses are plastics engineering and recycling of complex composite materials. For the practical research, we have about 1000 sqm pilot plant and laboratory area with modern equipment and machinery.

Last year we invested a lot of time and work to develop the new course of studies "Material + Technical Design", which should offer our graduates good chances on the job market. Since 2017 we are offering a course of study in "Material + Technical Design" which combines the subjects of technology, natural sciences, design and diversity.

Our research topics and our teaching activities are also incorporated into the biennial conference "Plastics Trends in Automotive". The forum for all those who are involved in the automotive or plastics industry.

In the future, we will continue to develop steadily, pick up on the latest trends and be a pioneer in research and teaching.
