The anniversary celebration for 25 years of the Faculty of Law took place in the auditorium of the Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences.
The event was accompanied by a varied programme in which numerous guests of honour, alumni, students and friends of the faculty took part. Pianist Jan Behrens provided the musical backdrop to the celebration on the grand piano.
Prof. Dr. Kai Litschen, Dean of the Faculty of Law, welcomed all those present and looked back on the successful development of the faculty in his speech. Prof. Dr Julia Siegmüller, President of Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences, then gave a welcome address, emphasising the importance of the Faculty of Law for the university. Elke Wesche-Möller, Deputy Mayor of the City of Wolfenbüttel, praised the wide range of study programmes offered by the Faculty of Law.
Prof. Dr. Rainer Wedde attended the ceremony as a representative of the Association of University Professors of Business Law. In his speech, he he took a lokk at BELS within the business law landscape in Germany and Switzerland.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Ralf Imhof, Dean of Studies at the faculty, took a trip down the memory lane by speaking about the faculty's beginnings but also about the present and possobile future of the faculty .
The keynote speech by Dr Carsten Tegethoff, judge at the Federal Administrative Court, dealt with the topic of reducing bureaucracy in administration.
Nils Tack, a graduate of the Business Law degree programme and now Head of the HR Consulting Centre at Volkswagen's Wolfsburg site, spoke about his experiences and memoires in his alumni speech. He thanked the faculty for the excellent education he received.
The anniversary celebration on Friday, November 14th, was the highlight of an entire week of celebrations. During the week, students were offered a colourful programme during this week; from cakes and hot dogs to beer pong, there was something for everyone.
All in all, there was a varied programme during this successful week.
