Discharge measurements

Two ATEX-certified "MSFM S2.5T" flow meters from Detectronic were procured at the start of the SCREENING project in order to carry out discharge measurements in Hildesheim's sewer network. By measuring the water level using pressure and the flow velocity using an ultrasonic Doppler sensor in combination with error compensation through temperature measurement, it is possible to determine the flow rate. The recorded measurement data is used to calibrate the sewer network models.

Since the completion of the SCREENING project, the two devices have been used in the rainwater sewer in the city of Celle for the PRIUS project. In future, discharge measurements are also to be carried out in the wastewater sewer in Celle for the "Kanaldetektive" project.
