From July 2 to 6 Mira Buchner, a member of knowledge and technology transfer, was visiting the Portuguese university Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal (IPS). The focus of her visit was the topic of science communication. Buchner and the colleagues in the departments “Support Unit for Innovation, Research and Development and Entrepreneurship”, “Communication” and “International Office” exchanged experiences as well as best practices and developed new ideas for the public relations work in research.

“The week at our partner university IPS was so beneficial, both professionally as well as personally,” says Buchner. “I worked with very nice colleagues in Setúbal who shared their experiences with me and, on the other hand, also had a great interest in the structures and strategies of Ostfalia. They appreciate our institution as a valuable partner.”

The connection between the two institutions has been deepened in recent years by the Ostfalia project EU-strategy-FH. Thus in June 2017 Ostfalia organised a workshop on the topic of entrepreneurship and innovation, in which Sandra Pinto, Associate at the IPS, also took part. The technical exchange and collaboration should be continued in the coming years, too.

The visit to Portugal was funded by Erasmus+. The EU program supports the Europe-wide exchange of academic staff and employees.
