Die Fakultät Recht - Brunswick European Law School (BELS) ist dem "United Nations Global Compact" (GC) der Vereinten Nationen am 27.11.2017 beigetreten, wie der GC Website entnommen werden kann: http://unglobalcompact.org/participant/124911

Damit ist die BELS nun Mitglied der weltgrößten und wichtigsten Initiative zur nachhaltigen Unternehmensführung. Der UN Global Compact hat weltweit über 12000 Mitglieder in über 140 verschiedenen Ländern. Die Vision des UN Global Compact ist eine inklusive und nachhaltige Weltwirtschaft auf der Grundlage seiner 10 Prinzipien: https://www.globalcompact.de/ueber-uns/united-nations-global-compact.

Als Initiative der Vereinten Nationen bietet der UN Global Compact einen einzigartigen Rahmen, um über Branchen und Grenzen hinweg über eine gerechte Ausgestaltung der Globalisierung zu diskutieren und diese Vision mit geeigneten Strategien und Aktivitäten zu verwirklichen. Dabei versteht sich die Initiative nicht als zertifizierbarer Standard oder als Regulierungsinstrument, sondern als ein offenes Forum, um Veränderungsprozesse anzustoßen und Ideen zu teilen. In nationalen Netzwerken entwickeln die Teilnehmer konkrete GC-MxdchenLösungsansätze und tragen damit zur globalen Vision des UN Global Compact bei. Unternehmen und Organisationen sollen durch den UN Global Compact dabei unterstützt werden, ihre Strategien und Aktivitäten an Nachhaltigkeitszielen und der Vision des UN Global Compact auszurichten. Im Mittelpunkt stehen die SDGs, die die Nachhaltigkeitsdebatte auf nationaler und internationaler Ebene prägen. Sie bieten als globales Zielsystem eine gemeinsame Sprache und einen Kompass für die Herausforderungen des 21. Jahrhunderts.

Die BELS verpflichtet sich als Mitglied des UN Global Compact ab sofort dazu:

  • die 10 Prinzipien des UN Global Compact zu unterstützen;
  • diese 10 Prinzipien zu vertreten, zu stützen und zu stärken, besonders auch gegenüber Interessensvertretern innerhalb und außerhalb der BELS ebenso wie gegenüber der allgemeinen Öffentlichkeit;
  • sich an den Aktivitäten des UN Global Compact zu beteiligen sowie
  • alle zwei Jahre einen Bericht zu den Aktivitäten der BELS zu schreiben und dem UN Global Compact, Interessensvertretern und der allgemeinen Öffentlichkeit zugänglich zu machen.

We proudly announce that on 27.11.2017 Brunswick European Law School was officially confirmed as participating member of the United Nations Global Compact. We are pleased to have been informed by the United Nations Global Compact that Brunswick European Law School (BELS) has since then been added to their register of participants: http://unglobalcompact.org/participant/124911

Therefore, BELS has now joined the world's largest corporate responsibility initiative - with nearly 12,000 business and non-business participants in 140 countries.

As a United Nations Global Compact participant, Brunswick European Law School (BELS) commits to:

  • Support the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact with respect to human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption;
  • Advance these principles within your sphere of influence, and make a clear statement of this commitment to your stakeholders and the general public;
  • Take part in the activities of the UN Global Compact; and
  • Communicate every two years with your stakeholders on your engagement in the Global Compact and your efforts to support the ten principles, and post this Communication on Engagement (COE) on the UN Global Compact website. Failure to post a COE every two years will result in loss of an "active" status in the UN Global Compact, and eventual removal from the initiative.
