Public online lecture series at Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences starts on Wednesday, 18 September 2024.

New technologies are playing an increasingly important role in all socially and economically relevant areas of life. One of the most influential technologies is "artificial intelligence". Lecturers from various faculties at Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences are taking the controversial debate on this topic as an opportunity to organise a public lecture series.

"We want to take a joint interdisciplinary look at the applications and technical foundations of artificial intelligence and its legal and ethical implications and are looking forward to the participation of an interested audience from outside the university," explains Prof Dr Carsten Meyer from the Faculty of Computer Science.

Under the title "Brave New World - Potentials and Challenges of AI", the topic will be explored in lectures from 18 September from various disciplines such as computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and information technology, transport-sport-tourism-media, law and economics.

The lecture series is aimed at students from all faculties at Ostfalia and students in the KI4All network of TU Braunschweig, TU Clausthal and Ostfalia, as well as anyone with a deeper interest in the topic of "Artificial Intelligence".

The lectures will take place online in the winter semester 2024/25, every Wednesday from 18 September to 18 December 2024, from 6 to 7:30 pm. Click here for the online lecture. (external link, opens in a new window)
