International

Welcome to the website of the Faculty of Business, where everything revolves around the topic of internationalisation.

Our aim is to prepare you optimally for your future professional life. We see internationalisation as an important factor for your future. By spending time abroad (semester abroad, short programme, practical phase), you can not only improve your language skills, but also develop important key competencies such as intercultural understanding, the ability to deal with conflict, independence, initiative and a sense of responsibility. These skills increase your chances of finding an attractive job and are often the key to success when you start your career.

Your steps abroad

A stay abroad is an enriching experience that needs to be carefully planned. To make it as easy as possible for you to go abroad, we support you from the very beginning with numerous information sessions.

As early as the first semester, you will be given an overview of the many different ways in which you can organise your studies abroad in a compulsory session. In the following semesters, we will also regularly invite you to in-depth information events in which all important topics relating to planning, application and organisation will be covered.

Our Student Advisor is available during regular consultation hours to answer any questions and concerns you may have about your adventure abroad - regardless of whether you would like to go abroad with a partner university or as a free mover. The first big step is deciding when, where and in what form you would like to go abroad.

You should make this decision by the end of your third semester, as this is when the first application deadlines begin. We will help you to keep an eye on all deadlines and dates in time.

Once the decision has been made, the concrete preparation begins: check application deadlines, collect the necessary documents and, if necessary, take care of language and financial preparation - you will also find competent help from us.

You can find detailed information on applying to our partner universities in our Moodle area under: https://moodle.ostfalia.de/course/view.php?id=478 (external link, opens in a new window)

If you would like to go abroad as a free mover, we will be happy to support you in making contact with placement agencies or with helpful tips for applying directly to your chosen university.

You are not alone - we will accompany you every step of the way on your journey abroad!

Semester abroad in the Master's programme

A semester abroad is also worthwhile during your Master's degree programme:

You can discover new subject areas, make exciting contacts and further your personal and professional development. Especially in an international environment, you can gain valuable experience that will enrich you both academically and personally.

The Master's degree programme in Strategic Management does not require you to spend time abroad as part of your studies. In our experience, a semester abroad is best realised towards the end of the degree programme. We therefore recommend that you use the fourth semester - ideally before starting your Master's thesis - for a stay abroad.

It is important to us to provide you with the best possible support in planning and realising your semester abroad. You can find all relevant information, contact persons and helpful tips here: https: (external link, opens in a new window) //moodle.ostfalia.de/course/view.php?id=6851

Feel free to contact us at any time if you have any questions or would like individual advice - we will accompany you on your way abroad.
