Ostfalia as an employer
At Ostfalia, we take responsibility for good education! We believe that all people deserve to learn in such a way that they can realise their full potential.
For us, education and practical research are the key to the individual success of our approximately 10,000 students, to progress, democracy, prosperity and social cohesion.
A unique task that we approach with great respect and a sense of responsibility.
Ostfalia - simply good all round!
Who we are
At its core, a state-run talent factory - with four locations in Lower Saxony, we are regionally anchored and at the same time internationally networked. As a university of applied sciences, we have been committed to generating and passing on new knowledge for 50 years and combine good teaching with practice-orientated research. We offer students the best opportunities to develop into specialists and managers for the national and international labour market based on the latest scientific findings. This is our passion.
What sets us apart
We value the diversity of the people who study and work with us, their diverse skills and perspectives. Equal opportunities and an open and accessible atmosphere are important to us. Students and teaching staff cultivate an appreciative and unprejudiced teaching and learning culture. More about our mission statement. (external link, opens in a new window)
What drives us
We see ourselves as an agent of social change. We are driven by the desire to innovate for a present and future worth living in. We seek sustainable solutions and conduct research beyond the boundaries of disciplines and the university. We endeavour to provide performance-enhancing study and working conditions, encourage initiative, a willingness to take responsibility and the curiosity to leave familiar paths.
What we offer
We don't promise the blue sky, but instead rely on predominantly permanent, secure employment contracts, flexible working hours, mobile working, a company pension scheme, a modern infrastructure, family-friendly structures (childcare depending on location), 30 days' annual leave (Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve are days off), individual further training and a wide range of sports and health programmes.
