The campus, with its modern laboratories and learning environments, is located in the countryside halfway between Hamburg and Hanover, nestled in the natural landscape of the Lüneburg Heath. There are two modern dormitories right on the campus grounds – which means short distances, a strong community, and a direct connection to student life. Studying in Suderburg has a long tradition, with the location looking back on over 150 years of history.

At Campus Suderburg, we contribute to the good news ourselves through our various research projects and try to make the world a little better and more sustainable. We offer our students the opportunity not only to study at an excellent level and close to practice, but also to develop personally. Each of our degree programmes is socially relevant and offers many opportunities for good news and contributing to solutions after graduation.
Studying and living in the countryside
Loud, big and grey is not our thing. We love lots of space to develop, fresh air, our green campus and a friendly "Moin" to greet us.
In Suderburg (external link, opens in a new window), everything you need for everyday life is within easy reach: supermarkets, bakeries, a gym, various sports clubs, medical care and other local amenities provide a good infrastructure. The nearby Hardausee lake is a great place to relax after a long day of studying - a popular destination for activities or to switch off in nature.
In and around Suderburg you will find numerous leisure activities - from cycling and hiking trails to club life and student initiatives and events on campus. If you are looking for the hustle and bustle of the city in between, you are also well connected: Suderburg is located directly on the Hamburg-Hanover railway line. You can reach the Hanseatic city of Uelzen in just seven minutes - with its cinema, cafés, restaurants, diverse shopping opportunities, sports and leisure facilities. You can be in Hamburg or Hanover in an hour.
This makes Suderburg an ideal place to study: manageable, affordable, close to nature - and yet right in the centre of life.
