Intercultural training
Different cultural perspectives can lead to cultural conflicts and misunderstandings. In order to avoid these possible negative consequences, intercultural competence is playing an increasingly important role. This training is about approaching the topic of culture in general and reflecting on one's own cultural identity in particular.
In the training we work with predominantly experience-based methods. The focus is on combining academic reflection with a clear practical orientation.
Regional studies seminars
The concept of regional studies originates from linguistics and literary studies and is based on the assumption that not only the acquisition of language skills, but also the acquisition of regional studies knowledge is crucial for successful foreign language learning. In this sense, regional studies is a very practice-orientated subject that focuses on the main features of the political, economic and cultural development of a specific country.
Further information on obtaining the Certificate of Intercultural Competence (ZiK) can be found here and on the website of the International Relations Office.
