About the faculty

Mechanical Engineering: Preserving traditions, shaping innovations!

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Ostfalia has stood for a strong combination of experience, research and modern teaching since 1971. As one of the founding departments of the university, we have many years of expertise - and are constantly developing further.

Our centrepiece: state-of-the-art laboratory equipment with over 20 laboratories on an area of 2700 square metres as well as our large machine hall. Here we bring theory and practice together, encourage independent work and provide space for creative solutions - for our students, our partners and anyone who is enthusiastic about technology.

We have been working closely with companies for 25 years to actively promote knowledge transfer and jointly drive forward future topics. With us, knowledge does not remain in the lecture theatre. Thanks to our strong industrial partners, we offer our students practical training at the highest level and the best career opportunities - whether classic or dual.

And because standing still is not our thing, we conduct research into topics such as digitalisation, Industry 4.0 and sustainability, always with the aim of thinking outside the box and bringing fresh impetus to society and the economy

Whether you are planning a degree programme, looking to interact with our department or are interested in our research - we look forward to introducing you to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering!
