Working time regulations
Ostfalia has modern and flexible working time regulations that allow you flexibility and self-determination in many areas.
This allows you to harmonise your work, family and leisure time in many areas - this gives you room for manoeuvre and ensures a more relaxed and balanced daily schedule.
Work flexibly and individually
Below you will find an overview of the most important working time regulations at Ostfalia.
Working hours
At Ostfalia University, the average regular weekly working time of a full-time employee is 39.8 hours.
If the position is suitable for part-time work, you can work any number of hours (e.g. 75.96%).
Flexitime
The flexitime framework extends from 6.00 am to 8.00 pm. However, there are also areas of responsibility in which fixed working hours are provided.
The core time (compulsory attendance) starts at 9.00 am and ends at 12.00 pm. There are also so-called functional times. During these times, an appropriate level of service availability must be ensured within the respective organisational unit by agreement.
mobile working
The possibility of mobile working is generally limited to a maximum of 40% of individual weekly working hours within a semester.
Holidays
The annual holiday entitlement is 30 working days for a 5-day week.
If your working hours are spread over fewer than five days a week, your holiday entitlement is reduced accordingly.
Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve are non-working days. You do not have to take holiday on these days.
