Partner universities
Argentina - Universidad Nacional del Litoral, Santa Fe
Santa Fe
The partner university of the Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences is the Universidad Nacional del Litoral (UNL) in Santa Fe. Santa Fe is the capital of the province of Santa Fe and is located in the north-east of Argentina.
Universidad Nacional del Litoral and Facultad de ingeniera y ciencias hídiricas (FICH)
The Faculty of Engineering and Water Sciences (Spanish: Facultad de ingeniera y ciencias hídiricas; abbreviation: FICH) is part of the state-run Universidad Nacional del Litoral (UNL) and is located in Santa Fe. At this location, 20 different degree programmes are offered in the fields of applied computer science, environmental sciences and water sciences.
The faculty has been in existence for 51 years. It offers 8 undergraduate programmes, 5 bachelor's programmes, 7 master's and doctoral programmes, which are currently accepted by more than 3,200 students. In addition, the faculty has 11 research centres and laboratories in Argentina and more than 150 research projects with more than 600 articles published in scientific journals between 2008 and 2019.
Who can study in Argentina?
Studying at the Universidad Nacional del Litoral (UNL) is possible for all students of the Water and Soil Management (Environmental Engineering) programme of the Faculty of Civil, Water and Soil Engineering at Ostfalia. Students on other degree programmes can contact us at any time and we will try to find a solution.
Total duration of the stay
Up to 9 months, including 6 months studying at the Universidad Nacional del Litoral and 3 months internship in a company, public authority, etc.

China - Zhejiang University of Science and Technology (ZUST), Hangzhou
Chinese-German exchange programme with ZUST - international perspectives for engineering education
Ostfalia University and the Chinese-German Institute for Applied Engineering (CDAI) at Zhejiang University of Science and Technology (ZUST) in Hangzhou have been working in close partnership since 2019. The aim of this co-operation is to provide students from both countries with a practical, intercultural and future-oriented engineering education.
As part of the programme, Chinese students initially complete three years of their studies in China, including intensive German courses. In the fourth year, they move to Germany and study at one of the partner universities - the TH Lübeck (main partner), the FH Munich, the FH Bochum or the Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences. There they complete the final year of their degree programme, including their Bachelor's thesis, and obtain a German-Chinesedouble degree.
German students also benefit from this cooperation: they have the opportunity to spend one academic year at the CDAI or at the ZUST - in either German or English. This not only gives them valuable international experience, but also in-depth insights into the world of work and engineering in China.
A particular highlight are the annual excursions to China, during which German students get to know the partner university and the country. In joint workshops with Chinese students, initial contacts, intercultural exchange and often friendships are formed- the ideal basis for studying abroad later on.
The co-operation not only promotes professional exchange, but also strengthens intercultural competence - an important prerequisite for the globally networked working world of tomorrow

Finland - Tampere University of Applied Sciences
The partner university of Faculty B is Tampere University of Applied Sciences (Finnish: Tampereen ammattikokeakoulu). Tampere is located in the south of Finland and is the third largest city in Finland with a population of 249,000.
The TAMK is divided into the followingschools
Built Environment and Bioeconomy
Business and Media
Industrial Engineering
Pedagogical Innovations and Culture
Social Services and Health Care
For students of Faculty B, the English-language Bachelor's degree programmes Environmental Engineering and Green Transition and Software Engineering are available.
The semester periods are as follows:
Spring semester: 2 January to 31 May
Autumn semester: 11 August to 31 December
Modules successfully completed at the TAMK can also be recognised for study in Suderburg.
The autumn semester also allows students to take examinations in Suderburg.
In addition to the study programme for students, lecturers have the opportunity to take part in the International Week "Eye on TAMK". Among other things, this event offers the opportunity to give lectures to Finnish students.
Students from Tampere and Suderburg can take part in excursions to familiarise themselves with the other location and visit plants and facilities for wastewater and waste treatment.
