Committees
The bodies and committees of academic self-administration are defined by the Niedersächsische Hochschulgesetz (NHG) and the university's basic regulations (PDF, 301.37 KB) (external link, opens in a new window). There are also commissions set up by the Senate or the Presidential Board to advise them. Ostfalia also has various representatives who are appointed by the NHG or other legal standards and elected by the Senate or the Presidential Board.
Students are represented in all academic self-government bodies and also elect the student self-government bodies, which regulate their own affairs independently of the academic self-government. These include the student councils, the student parliament and the AStA.
The Staff Council and the university's Disabled Persons' Delegation are also independent of academic self-administration.
