A region worth living in

Do you find the vibrant life of a metropolis attractive or do you prefer the flair of smaller towns and rural areas?

By choosing Ostfalia, you are choosing the most research-intensive region in Europe.

We owe this density of scientists to the four universities, numerous research institutions such as the German Aerospace Centre, the Fraunhofer Institutes, the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research, the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt and many other committed players in the Braunschweig region.

Professor Dr.-Ing. Dagmar Meyer: "What I appreciate about the region is the good connections and the proximity to nature."

"I am a passionate cyclist and have great opportunities here in the region to cycle to a wide variety of destinations. The region has a lot to offer in terms of scenery: The Harz Mountains and Heath are close by and larger cities such as Hamburg and Berlin can be reached quickly by train or car. As a nature lover and runner, I really like living in Wolfenbüttel, where I have my running route right on my doorstep and don't have to travel far for a nice walk in the woods or a longer hike."
