About our Faculty

Ostfalia’s Faculty of Computer Science/IT exists for over 30 years and has grown steadily now including 24 professors and approximately 1,400 students. We are located at Am Exer 2. Most of our professors have extensive industry experience; they maintain strong professional networks and supervise team projects - and especially final theses - together with our industry partners. Our network of over 60 partners for practice-integrated study programs includes major corporations as well as almost all the region's well-known software companies. Almost all our bachelor's students write their final theses directly within companies, and many gain early practical experience by working as student employees.

Our practice-oriented approach to education is also reflected in our facilities: numerous modern laboratories and lecture halls are specifically designed to support contemporary teaching methods - such as our "Scale-up" rooms, which facilitate interactive, project-based learning. In our foyers, you have access to study areas featuring tables equipped with monitors, allowing you to collaborate on projects and coursework. We also provide a spacious, state-of-the-art area for student-led initiatives like the RoboCup and the Ostfalia Cup. Here, academic coursework and student engagement go hand in hand, since many topics learned in class are directly applied to these projects, and vice versa.
