Our values
As members of the faculty, i.e. all faculty members including all students, we take responsibility for our fellow human beings and our environment.
Preamble
People around the world should be able to live together in social coexistence without war, terrorism or organised crime. We want to achieve the protection of our environment and compliance with internationally agreed climate targets both in Germany and in other countries through international cooperation.
Equality
We stand for equal rights and equal treatment - regardless of gender, origin, religion, sexual orientation and physical/mental limitations.
We do not tolerate discrimination.
Freedom
- Our freedom is based on the Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany.
- We stand for freedom of expression as long as the personal boundaries of others are always respected.
- We do not tolerate oppression.
Justice
We stand for compliance with the principles of the rule of law at the Faculty. Decisions in the Faculty (admissions, examinations, etc.) are based on binding regulations. There are processes through which compliance with the rules can be checked.
Corruption is not tolerated at the university.
We stand for socially equitable access to studying at the faculty regardless of financial means and social status. People with justified special needs should be able to complete their studies without restriction.
Tolerance and respect
We stand for respectful, tolerant and appreciative interaction with one another regardless of differences (e.g. political, ethnic and cultural).
Tolerance means recognising the existence of differences and allowing them within certain limits.
Our responsibility
We see it as our responsibility to conduct a counselling interview before sending our students to point out possible restrictions on personal rights. Incomers are also informed about our values and standards.
Red lines
In the event of demonstrable violations of our values in the context of international collaborations, the Faculty Council must decide on the resulting consequences on a case-by-case basis.
