Research Data Management

Ostfalia University is part of the State Initiative Research Data Management Lower Saxony (external link, opens in a new window) and a partner in the development of research data management for universities of applied sciences in Lower Saxony (external link, opens in a new window).

The aim of the projects is to promote the development and expansion of a suitable and efficient research data management system at the participating universities in Lower Saxony.

As part of the projects, the methods and standards required for RDM are to be identified, taking into account the specific framework conditions of universities and specialist disciplines. Based on this, knowledge transfer services for researchers will then be designed.

A strong focus is being placed on advising, training and supporting researchers and students through central structures and services.

The network headquarters (external link, opens in a new window) collects, prepares and provides the relevant know-how for all universities in the project network. Positions for so-called data stewards are set up at the individual universities, who are supported by this central office. The Knowledge and Technology Transfer and the Ostfalia Library will take on this task together from 01.07.2024, so that researchers will have contact persons for all questions relating to RDM at the university. Particular emphasis is placed on mutual exchange to generate customized and subject-specific offers.

Information on current developments, offers and events is sent out in the monthly FDM NDS newsletter. Sign up under this link (external link, opens in a new window) to stay up to date.
