Areas of specialization

The main course of study takes place in the 6th and 7th semester. This involves specialization in a sub-area of mechanical engineering, which is why these two semesters are also referred to as specialization semesters. In mechanical engineering, you choose one of four specializations:

Full-time or part-time

The Digital Automotive Production programme is offered in 2 variants:

Variant I part-time:

  • Duration: 4 semesters including Master's thesis

Variant II consecutive:

  • Duration: 3 semesters including Master's thesis

Prerequisite/authorisation

  • completed university degree(Bachelor or Diplom) with 210 credits
  • At least 1 year of relevant professional experience in the engineeringfield
  • other requirements possible in individual cases

Once you have gained your first few years of professional experience, you may realise that your tasks are changing: they are becoming more complex, project management and personnel management functions are increasing and your technical production knowledge needs to be refreshed and deepened. These gaps can be closed with this degree programme.

You will learn about the current state of research and technology in Industry 4.0 applications, body and unit production, the potential uses of additive manufacturing, assembly and robotics technology and materials, as well as modern productionmanagement and process simulation methods and the digital factory. Courses in personnel management, business law and cost management as well as project work based on specific examples round off the programme.
