The Ostfalia students prevailed against teams from all over the world.

A great success for the "WF Wolves" team: from 15 to 21 July 2025, five students from Ostfalia University competed at the RoboCup World Championship in Salvador, Brazil - and returned with strong placings. They secured a top 8 place in the Humanoid League (Kid Size) and 2nd place in the Technical Challenges.

In the Humanoid League, autonomous, self-built humanoid robots compete against each other in 4-on-4 matches - without any remote control. They have to run independently, kick the ball, get up again after a fall and master complex game situations. In the so-called Technical Challenges, the teams also have to demonstrate their technical finesse, for example when shooting at a moving ball or navigating through an obstacle field. The five WF Wolves - students of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, information technology and computer science - were able to hold their own in a strong field of participants: over 2,000 participants from 40 countries and around 60,000 visitors attended the RoboCup World Championships.

"This year was the most successful for a long time. Our robots were able to walk stably, kick, stand up and hold their own in battles with other robots. This progress was finally reflected in the match results. A top 8 placing and 2nd place in the Technical Challenges is a great success for us," says Mia Sörensen from the "WF Wolves" team.
