Advances in power electronics are making many sustainable energy technologies possible today. Modern power electronics topologies ensure efficient and cost-effective energy conversion - for example, when transferring battery power directly to the wheels of an electric vehicle. The aim of this module is to show you how to develop an energy-efficient motor drive using commercially available components, taking into account important design criteria for maximum efficiency. Where is Wolfenbüttel located?
Wolfenbüttel
Wolfenbüttel is a charming, historic town in the heart of Lower Saxony, close to Braunschweig and Hanover. The town is known for its beautiful half-timbered houses, the imposing castle and the famous Herzog August Library. This is where tradition and modernity meet: Wolfenbüttel offers a lively cultural scene, cosy cafés and numerous leisure activities. The friendly atmosphere, short distances and convenient transport links to cities such as Berlin make Wolfenbüttel an ideal place for an exciting stay in Germany.

Who can take part in the ISU WF?
Students from all partner universities of the Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences are welcome! The programme is specifically tailored to students of electrical engineering and information technology, computer science or related subjects. Interested students from other degree programmes can also take part - if you have any questions, please contact mail(at)ISU-WF.com (opens your email program). All courses are held in English. Sufficient language skills are essential.

You can register for participation from 1 December 2025 to 28 February 2026.

What are the costs?
You organise and pay for your own travel costs, including flights. The participation fee for accommodation, meals (breakfast), all courses and all excursions - for example trips to Bremen or Berlin - is 1,250 euros. The fee is due after successful registration; you will receive a request for payment by e-mail in good time.
