You can register simply and easily in our application portal (external link, opens in a new window) for the summer semester 2026 until 15 January 2026. Your studies will then begin on 1 March 2026.

1. Register
Please note the following information:
Have you obtained your higher education entrance qualification abroad?
You can find all the information you need to apply on our Application with a foreign school-leaving qualification pages.
Are you already studying at Ostfalia and would like to change your degree programme?
Then use your intranet access data (Ostfalia ID) and apply via the Ostfalia application portal.
Have you already studied at Ostfalia in the past or attended a guest lectureship?
If so, please send an e-mail to the Enrolment Office (opens your email program) stating the new degree programme you are applying for, your former matriculation number and your date of birth so that we can activate your access to the online application portal.

If the previous points do not apply, please complete a new registration in the online application portal.
In the registration mask, you enter your personal data and assign a password. Then answer the security question, accept the data protection information and finally click on "Register".
You will then receive an e-mail with the user ID you need to log in. By clicking on the link in the e-mail, you will be redirected to the application portal.
2. Apply
Please fill out the application form in the Ostfalia application portal completely and truthfully.
Under certain conditions, it is possible to improve your grades for the selection procedure in order to obtain a place on degree programmes with restricted admission.
You can find detailed information about the bonus options in the selection regulations (PDF, 198.89 KB) (opens in a new window), (not accessible).
Applications with the status "in preparation" do not take part in the selection procedure. Therefore, please make sure to click on "Submit application" on the last page of the application form.
For degree programmes without admission restrictions, admission is guaranteed if the application has been submitted correctly and all criteria and admission requirements have been met.
Admission and enrolment
For the Social Work degree programmes in Wolfenbüttel and Suderburg, degree programmes in the practice network and admission-free Master's degree programmes
Please wait until the status of your application changes to "Admission offer available". The letter of admission is now in your inbox in the application portal.
Please take care of everything mentioned there so that your enrolment can take place quickly.

For all other open-admission Bachelor's degree programmes
Once you have clicked on "Submit application", you can apply for enrolment directly. To expedite your enrolment, please complete the following steps:
1. Complete your details in the application portal.
2. Inform your health insurance company of our university identification number "H0000481" so that your insurance status can be reported directly to the university online by the health insurance company. Please note the information on health insurance.
3. Upload the required documents to the application portal by the deadline using the upload fields.
4. Transfer your semester fee (you will be shown the amount and bank details in the application portal after completing online enrolment).
Your enrolment can only be completed once you have uploaded all the necessary documents, we have received the electronic notification from the health insurance company and we have received your semester fee.
For Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes with restricted admission
Once you have clicked on "Submit application", your application for a degree programme with restricted admission will take part in the selection process with the information you have provided. Please check the status of your application in the application portal regularly.
If admission was possible in the main procedure, the letter of admission will be deposited in the inbox of the application portal. For final enrolment, please complete everything mentioned in the letter of admission.

Notes on health insurance
Please note that you will not receive any paper documents from your health insurance company. It is sufficient if you provide the health insurance company with our university identification number "H0000481" so that your insurance status can be reported online by the health insurance company directly to the university.

Your enrolment can only be completed once you have applied for enrolment in the online application portal, uploaded all the necessary documents and received the electronic notification from the health insurance company.
You are only enrolled as a student at Ostfalia once you have received confirmation of enrolment by email and can download the enrolment and BAföG certificate from the Ostfalia application portal.

Withdrawal of enrolment
You can apply to withdraw your enrolment up to four weeks after the start of lectures. This means that enrolment is deemed not to have taken place from the outset.
Deadline for the summer semester 2026: 01.04.2026
As a precaution, we would like to point out that an application for cancellation of enrolment with fee refund can be submitted without the partial amount for the "Deutschlandsemesterticket". Please use the form Application for reimbursement of the semester fee and select the reason for repayment: "Withdrawal of enrolment".
