The application portal for the winter semester 2026/27 is open now.
Please note: You cannot apply until you have received your high school diploma (e.g., Abitur certificate)!
Application Portal (external link, opens in a new window)Register online
- In the registration form, enter your personal information and create a password. Then answer the security question, accept the privacy policy, and finally click “Register.”
- You will then receive an email containing the user ID required for login. When you click the link in the email, you will be redirected to the login portal.
- In the login portal, enter the activation code from the registration email.
You haven't studied at Ostfalia yet
Simply start the registration process on the application portal as described above.
Are you already studying at Ostfalia and would like to change your degree programme?
Then use your intranet access data (Ostfalia ID) and apply via the Ostfalia application portal.
Have you already studied at Ostfalia in the past or attended a guest lectureship?
If so, please send an e-mail to the Enrolment Office (opens your email program) stating the new degree programme you are applying for, your former matriculation number and your date of birth so that we can activate your access to the online application portal.

You are applying for a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a Bachelor's degree in Business Informatics - Register with Hochschulstart
Are you interested in applying for the first semester of the Bachelor’s program in Computer Science or Business Computer Science? If so, please register with Hochschulstart (external link, opens in a new window) first. You will then receive a BID (User ID) and a BAN (Application Authentication Number) via email.
In the Ostfalia application portal (external link, opens in a new window), click on “Applicants” → “Register now.” Under “Import your data from external accounts,” enter the BID and BAN numbers you received earlier so that your data can be imported accordingly.
You can now proceed with your application.

Online application
- Please fill out the masks completely and truthfully.
- Under certain conditions, you may be eligible for grade adjustments in the admissions process, which could help you secure a spot in programs with limited enrollment. Detailed information about these so-called grade adjustment options can be found in the admissions regulations.
- Applications with the status “in progress” will not be included in the admissions process. Therefore, please be sure to click “Submit Application” on the last page of the application form.
Admission and Enrollment
Once you’ve applied for your desired program on the application portal, here’s what happens next:
- If you’ve applied for a bachelor’s program with open admission, you can enroll directly through the application portal after submitting your application. We will then review your documents. If all requirements are met, you will receive a confirmation of enrollment. Our service: If any documents are missing, we will contact you by email.
- If you have applied for the Social Work programs in Wolfenbüttel or Suderburg, for a program in the practice network, or for a master’s program with open admission, please wait until the status of your application changes to “Admission offer available.” The admission letter is now available in the inbox of the application portal. Please complete all the additional steps listed there so that your enrollment can be processed promptly.
- If you have applied for a program with limited admission, you will participate in the selection process after clicking “Submit Application.” Please check the status of your application regularly in the application portal. If admission was possible through the main admission process, the admission letter is available in the inbox of the application portal. To complete your final enrollment, please follow all further steps outlined in the admission letter.

Withdrawal of enrolment
You may request to withdraw your enrollment up to four weeks after the start of classes. This means that your enrollment will be considered void from the very beginning.
Deadline for the 2026/27 winter semester: October 20, 2026
Please note that you may submit a request to withdraw your enrollment and receive a refund of fees, excluding the portion for the “Deutschlandsemesterticket.” To do so, please use the form “Request for Refund of Semester Fees” and select the reason for the refund: “Withdrawal of Enrollment.”
Please note that a refund of the fee for the Deutschlandsemesterticket must be requested separately.
