Location greetings

Suderburg

At Campus Suderburg, your first day of the winter semester 2026 will begin on September 21, 2026, with the welcome and information event for all new students enrolled in on-campus degree programmes. Please register between 8:30 and 9:00 a.m. at the Welcome Desk in the cafeteria foyer. You will receive a warm welcome and an introduction to campus life.

From 9:00 a.m., all new students will come together for a semester breakfast in the cafeteria. The breakfast is provided by Ostfalia, so you do not need to bring anything. This will be your first opportunity to meet your fellow students and start your student life together.

Throughout the morning, you will receive important information about starting your studies and get to know your fellow students, degree programme coordinators, important contact points and the facilities on campus. The student representatives will also introduce themselves and have prepared a special welcome activity for you. In addition, the Suderburg municipality will welcome you and has prepared a little surprise for you.

The official part of the event will end at around 2:30 p.m. Afterwards, the relaxed part of the day begins: At the get-together at the “Kirche”, you can chat with your new fellow students, make contacts and round off your first day together. When the day finally ends is entirely up to you.

Starting Your Studies as a New Online Student

For new students enrolled in the online degree programmes of Faculty H, a separate orientation day will take place at Campus Suderburg on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Afterwards, you will join your respective degree programme. There, you will receive an introduction to the structure of your studies and be guided step by step through the most important technical systems for your online studies. Together, you will set up the learning platforms, your Ostfalia email account and the portal for registering for examinations, and check that everything is technically ready for the start of your studies.

You will also have the opportunity to clarify individual questions – for example, about module selection, participating in online lectures, upcoming on-campus phases, part-time study or the recognition of previously completed coursework.

Refreshments will also be provided: Coffee, tea, water and juice will be available throughout the morning. At lunchtime, there will also be a snack with sandwiches.
