Living
Tips for your flat search
Before you start your studies at Ostfalia, you will probably ask yourself the question: live locally or commute? As a university, we naturally recommend that you move close to one of our campuses. After all, the region between the Harz Mountains and the Lüneburg Heath with cities and municipalities such as Braunschweig, Wolfsburg, Salzgitter, Wolfenbüttel and Suderburg has a lot to offer! And you will certainly want to experience campus life and socialise with your fellow students. For these reasons, many of our students move into their own flat, a shared flat or a student residence.
It is important that you look for accommodation as early as possible, as affordable accommodation is scarce in many places. The Studierendenwerk Südost-Niedersachsen (external link, opens in a new window) and various online portals such as immobilienscout24, immonet or immo38 can help you with your search. There are always special rental agreements for students and often also financial support such as BAföG.
To summarise: You have various options for living in the region. If you inform yourself early and start your search, you are sure to find a suitable solution!
