Study organisation
Start of study
If you are just starting your studies, we recommend that you first take a look at our first semester information. This will give you an overview to help you get off to a good start at university.
Semester dates
So that you can organise your time slots well, the general semester dates are set at least one year in advance. Here you will find, for example, the start and end dates of courses, when lectures are free and when examinations take place.
Re-registration
In order to be able to continue your studies in the next semester, you must re-register in good time for the following semester. By transferring the semester fee, you declare that you wish to remain enrolled in the next semester.
If you have less time available, it may be possible to study part-time.
If you need a break, you can take a leave of absence from your studies.
Programme content
You can find information on the structure of the degree programme with compulsory and elective subjects in the section of your faculty. You can also take part in interdisciplinary courses and spend a semester abroad.
Examinations
As a rule, you must register for the examinations in good time. The examinations are written in the approximately three-week examination phase that directly follows the courses. Other examinations can be taken independently of these times.
Internship
An internship is integrated into many degree programmes. There is preparatory information, events and counselling for this. It is usually also necessary to register in advance.
Advice & help
Our comprehensive counselling & help service supports you in other matters relating to your studies. This also includes learning coaching, studying with health restrictions, financing and much more.
De-registration
If you would like to study something else or end your studies, you can apply to change your degree programme or exmatriculate.
