Course of study:
The standard period of study for this part-time Bachelor's degree programme for emergency paramedics is 6 semesters. The programme is designed in a blended learning format.

Practical learning
In this part-time degree programme for emergency paramedics, the focus is on practice-study-practice transfer. Practice-orientated teaching methods such as case studies, project work and simulations give you the opportunity to put theoretical concepts directly into practice. The lecturers and professors contribute their practical experience to teaching and are well networked with practitioners. The Faculty of Healthcare also has a simulation centre with high-quality technical equipment.

Semester) Professional self-reflection: Reflection on one's own actions in rescue service practice in the context of professional socialisation; introduction to socialisation theories; historical conditions for the professional construction of the rescue service; professionalisation in the rescue service

Semester) Introduction to (emergency) medical science: basics of health sciences (historical development, definition of health and disease, theories and concepts of health and disease, health and disease models); disciplines of health sciences (basics and differences in health promotion and prevention, basics of epidemiology, basics of social epidemiology, health and care reporting, salutogenesis, empowerment, ICF, health inequality, social situation, life situation model)
