Internship
The internship in the mechanical engineering degree programme - until the end of the 4th semester
Every degree programme at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering includes an internship. The internship of 8 weeks must be completed before the start of the examinations in the fourth semester. We recommend completing part of this work placement (e.g. 4 weeks) before the start of the degree programme.
A relevant apprenticeship can be recognised as an internship. This also includes graduation from a technical secondary school.
Our recommendation
We would really like to recommend that you complete part of the internship (e.g. 4 weeks) before you start your degree programme. We do this because we are aware that you will experience a lot of new things in the first few weeks of your degree programme and that you will be better placed in terms of time with this model afterwards.

The degree programme is often combined with integrated vocational training.
The training associated with the combined degree programme is then recognised as an internship and applicants with a valid training contract with one of our industrial training partners do not require an internship.
If the combined degree programme is carried out without integrated vocational training, the cooperating company must ensure that the requirements of the applicable internship training guidelines are met.
