Sustainability 2025 lecture series: "Discover your future spirit!"

The "Sustainable Ostfalia" (NachOs) project is continuing its successful lecture series on the topic of sustainability in the winter semester 2025/26 under this year's motto "Discover your future spirit!" and invites all interested students, university members and citizens to participate. The NachOs team has once again been able to attract renowned experts from business and research for this event. The lecture series will kick off on October 8, 2025, with the Green Ostfalia Special on “Sustainability Day.”

"We want to offer our audience a wide range of ideas and impulses for actively shaping a sustainable future - and at the same time promote dialogue," says Matthias Dickel, sustainability marketing specialist in the NachOs team. In addition to experts from the field - including entrepreneur Lucie Töpfer and Lisa Vieweg from Google - renowned academics such as Prof. Dr Niko Paech (University of Siegen) and Prof. Dr Anabel Ternès von Hattburg (SRH University) will also enrich the programme.

The lecture series usually takes place on Wednesdays and is interspersed with two themed days at the Green Ostfalia campus fair. Exciting activities organised by the student supporters of the NachOs project round off the programme. Another highlight will be the double lecture by Professors Jan Büchsenschuß and Christoph Menzel, who will share their visions for sustainable urban and transport development with the audience.

There is another new feature compared to the last lecture series: for the first time, Ostfalia students have the opportunity to earn 5 credit points (ECTS) for the lecture series. You are welcome to decide to participate spontaneously, but the organizer would appreciate an informal registration via email to nachhaltigkeit@ostfalia.de or m.dickel@ostfalia.de, in order to better plan room capacity.
