What will the presentations be about?
Frank Christian Seidel, research group leader for renewable energies at the Technical University of Braunschweig (Institute for Statics and Dynamics), will shed light on the utilisation of the River Oker as a heat source. Using the city of Wolfenbüttel as an example, he shows the technical and energy potential of river water heat utilisation systems and the framework conditions required for successful implementation.
In the second article, Ralph Schaper from Salzgitter AG presents the possibilities of industrial waste heat utilisation. The focus here is on the potential of large industrial companies to supply neighbouring municipalities with heat as well as the challenges and opportunities of integrating such systems into existing infrastructures.
Together, the two presentations will offer a practical insight into the central building blocks of the municipal heat transition and show how local resources and industrial synergies can be utilised effectively.
