Date / duration: 20.06.2026 - 28.06.2026
Location: Hanover
Exciting interactive exhibits on energy, sustainability and digitalisation
Beat a robot at a game of ninepins, power a heat pump using sheer muscle power, have a chat with the voice-controlled robot ‘Nao’, design a fruit bowl or a chair made from fungal mycelium, or delve into the world of coastal protection yourself – Ostfalia offers all this and much more at this year’s IdeenExpo in Hanover. From 20 to 28 June 2026, the university will be showcasing itself across around 500 m² with 18 different exhibits.
The hands-on stations will focus on the themes of energy, sustainability and digitalisation. True to the motto “Just give it a go”, visitors to the Ostfalia stations can gain a better understanding of topics such as renewable energy, robotics, water and soil protection, autonomous driving, sustainable design and film production by trying them out for themselves.
The following faculties will be represented: Civil Engineering, Water and Soil; Electrical and Information Technology; Automotive Engineering; Supply Engineering; and Transport, Sport, Tourism and Media. In addition, central departments such as Knowledge and Technology Transfer and the Central Student Advisory Service will be present at the Ostfalia stand.
The IdeenExpo will take place from 20 to 28 June 2026 in Hanover and offers young people and interested visitors from all over Germany the opportunity to experience science and research up close. Ostfalia can be found at the exhibition centre in Ideenhalle 7, in the Digital Worlds section.
