MathsLift helps you to improve your maths skills and develop effective learning strategies.
Do you have problems with maths? Or have you been out for a while and need to catch up in maths? MatheLift helps you to improve your maths skills and develop effective learning strategies. It also promotes the formation of learning groups that will support you in the long term.
The offer is aimed at all students of the Faculty of Automotive Engineering on the Automotive Engineering, Automotive Informatics, Material + Technical Design and Smart Vehicle Systems degree programmes.
What topics are covered?

MathsLift as a voluntary additional offer
We offer the MathsLift course as a voluntary additional course in the first semester.
Here we work together on the maths skills required for your studies, develop learning strategies and encourage the formation of learning groups that will support you in your studies in the long term.
You can find the additional "MatheLift" course in your timetable and it starts in the first week!
Stretched study entry with MathsLift
Is that not enough? Depending on the number of applications, we offer you an extended start to your studies with MathsLift. With MatheLift, you stretch your first semester over two semesters and take part in an intensive maths course.
MatheLift helps you to improve your maths skills and develop effective learning strategies. It also encourages the formation of learning groups that will support you in the long term.
Timetable with and without MathsLift
The modules of the regular first semester are spread over 2 semesters in the extended study entry programme. Some of the courses from the first semester take place in the second semester. The time freed up in the first semester is used for MathsLift.
From the third semester onwards, MathsLift participants take part in the courses of the regular second semester and continue their studies as normal.
Decision support
There will be a placement teston Tuesday 24/09/2014 in room S-001 from 14:00 to 15:00. Based on the test results, recommendations for participation in MathsLift will be sent by e-mail.
Application
If you would like to take part in the extended study entry with MatheLift, please apply by email to k.glaeser(at)ostfalia.de (opens your email program) by the Sunday after the second week of lectures at 6 pm.
The application should include
- Name
- Matriculation number
- Degree programme
You will be informed of your acceptance to the programme after the application deadline.
The extended study entry with MathsLift will then start with your new timetable from the third week of the semester!
