Prof. Ingo Johannsen (IFR) and the Knowledge and Technology Transfer (KTT) team transformed the new studio at the Ostfalia Campus Wolfsburg into a lively pop-up construction site on 3 December 2025. The event offered visitors an open space for ideas, dialogue and visions for the future - and impressively demonstrated how versatile the emerging creative space can be used.

Diverse hands-on and exhibition stations

At the stations, guests had the opportunity to

  • Develop future visions for the creative space
  • Discover prototypes, upcycling approaches and sustainable materials
  • learn more about the mushroom mycelium working group as a material of the future
  • Gain insights into research and laboratory analysis
  • get to know the Material & Technical Design studio
  • and find out about Gründen@Ostfalia

The event also offered numerous opportunities to exchange ideas, network and develop creative impulses.

Artistic and experimental contributions

The programme was supplemented by student works, free image projections, pop-up productions on the subject of plastics recycling and a graphic recording.
