The ZDF series “plan b” is a two-part programme exploring unconventional approaches to fighting crime. The first part of the documentary, “Reinforcements for the Police – Special Forces in Action”, focuses on the people and technologies that support investigators in their work. Ostfalia professor Felix Büsching features in the programme. The “SmartHome Forensics” research project, which he leads, aims to use devices and data from the smart home to support investigative work in criminal cases. The university is collaborating on this with the Lower Saxony Police Innovation Hub. A film crew spent two days with Professor Felix Büsching from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, accompanying him and his team as they carried out their research.
Both parts of the documentary are now available to watch on the ZDF media library (external link, opens in a new window). The Ostfalia project is featured in the first part of the documentary from minute 26:28.
The segment featuring the Ostfalia project will be broadcast on ZDF on Sunday 26 July at 3.30 pm.
