Beat a robot in a mill, operate a heat pump with pure muscle power, chat with the voice-controlled robot "Nao", design a fruit bowl or a chair made of mushroom mycelium or immerse yourself in the world of coastal protection - Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences and Arts is offering all this and much more at this year's IdeenExpo in Hanover. From 20 to 28 June 2026, the university will be presenting 18 different exhibits on around 500 m².
"Our hands-on stations will focus on the topics of energy, sustainability and digitalisation," explains Maximilian Kuzaj, project coordinator for Ostfalia's presence at the IdeenExpo. In keeping with the motto "Just do it", visitors to the Ostfalia stations will be able to better understand topics such as renewable energies, robotics, water and soil protection, autonomous driving, sustainable design and film production by trying them out for themselves.
The following faculties will be represented: Construction-Water-Soil, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Automotive Engineering, Supply Engineering and Transport-Sport-Tourism-Media. Central institutions such as Knowledge and Technology Transfer and the Central Student Advisory Service will also be present at the Ostfalia stand.
IdeenExpo will take place in Hanover from 20 to 28 June 2026 and offers young people and interested parties from all over Germany the opportunity to experience science and research up close. Ostfalia can be found at the exhibition centre in Ideas Hall 7, in the Digital Worlds area.
