The number of people in need of care in Germany is growing continuously - by 2060, 4.8 million people are expected to be affected. Technical aids in the home environment are essential to ensure good care in the future. In the "Personal assistance for patients in care (PersonA-PP)" project, we are developing a robot-assisted assistant that takes on tasks such as fetching and handing over objects. Many parts of the robot are being further developed in student team, project, bachelor's and master's theses.

In the anechoic chamber of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, we simulate different acoustic environments using a 3D loudspeaker system with 8 channels and a powerful computer. An artificial head enables the realistic simulation of human hearing.
Humanoid robots

Our humanoid robots offer ideal testing opportunities for projects in image processing, speech processing and machine learning. students programme and test their own functions and learn how to programme algorithms for motion sequences. An illustrative example of an application in which these technologies come together is when the robots play football.
