For the 11th time, the Wolfsburg campus of Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences was the meeting place for guests from all over the world at the end of October. Every year, the Faculty of Business invites lecturers from its international partner universities to hold courses in English. This gives students the opportunity to familiarise themselves with other subjects and gain new impetus, earn credit points and - incidentally - improve their English.

EU and Ostfalia enable Erasmus partners to gain exciting experience abroad

Since 2024, International Week has also been part of a blended intensive programme and is funded by Erasmus funds provided by the European Commission. Since then, students from Erasmus partners have also taken part alongside Ostfalia students. This time, 25 guests from Finland, Slovakia, Hungary and the USA were able to experience the international flair in Wolfsburg.

Touristic programme in Wolfsburg with a tour of the town hall, Volkswagen and bowling

In addition to the lectures, the Faculty of Business had organised a touristic programme that offered plenty of space for networking, exchange and stimulating discussions:

  • Monday: Our guests started with a welcome at the campus. The programme continued with a reception at Wolfsburg Town Hall and a visit to the roof of the town hall. ‘The ongoing and trusting cooperation with Ostfalia is a central component of our joint strategy to strengthen Wolfsburg as a centre of science and higher education in the long term,’ emphasised Jens Hofschröer, Head of Digital and Economic Affairs for the City of Wolfsburg. Afterwards, all of the students gathered for a kitchen party.
  • Tuesday: The group visited the Volkswagen plant and explored the Autostadt.
  • Wednesday: After the lectures, the bowling balls rolled.
  • Thursday: A day dedicated to lectures - because exams were scheduled for Friday.
  • Friday: After the exams, Prof Dr Burkhard Breig said goodbye to our guests and the alumni association sponsored a round of pizza for everyone.

The Faculty of Business is firmly planning a new edition of the International Week in Wolfsburg for 2026.
