Almost everyone uses social media today - platforms that are designed to capture our attention for as long as possible. Influencers play a central role in this. They shape trends, opinions and consumer behaviour - often with the aim of gaining reach. This edition of the Sustainability Forum looks at the logic of the industry, where deception begins and what legal boundaries apply.
Prof Dr Harald Rau, Dean of the Faculty of Transport, Sports, Tourism and Media, talks about "Currencies of reality - where media governance should start".
Prof. Dr Oliver Kreutz, Professor of Civil Law, Legal Issues of Digitalisation and Competition Law, will shed light on the "Regulation of Influencers under Fair Trading Law".
Prof. Dr Udo Becker, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law, will show how "finfluencers" can come into conflict with capital market law.
Prof Dr Kai Litschen, Dean of the Brunswick European Law School (BELS) - Faculty of Law, will moderate the subsequent panel discussion.
The Sustainability Forum will take place on Wednesday, 25 March, from 6 to 8 p.m. in room RO01 in building R (Salzdahlumer Straße 46-48, 38302 Wolfenbüttel) and online via the BigBlueButton (BBB) video conferencing system.
