15:00 to 15:30: Utilisation of artificial intelligence in software development - from intelligent autocomplete to autonomous agents

Speaker: Micheal Mentrup (Senior Lead Expert at Sopra Steria SE)

Content: The integration of artificial intelligence into the software development cycle is no longer a fleeting trend, but is fundamentally changing the way software is designed, programmed and maintained. However, while the pressure to innovate is growing rapidly, concerns around data protection, compliance and security are holding many companies back. In this presentation, we will shed light on the opportunities and risks of AI in the day-to-day work of developers and present tried-and-tested solutions.

Main topics:

  • Data protection & compliance: Why the protection of intellectual property is a top priority and how we can prevent the risk of "shadow AI" in the company.
  • Secure AI infrastructure: Ways out of the dilemma - from the use of European cloud hyperscalers to the local on-premises implementation of strong open source models.
  • Security risks: The dark side of AI (prompt injections, hallucinations, hardcoded secrets and supply chain attacks).
  • Automation of tedious routine tasks: How AI is already reliably assisting with boilerplate code, unit testing, documentation and refactoring legacy code.
  • The future of coding ("vibe coding"): The paradigm shift from AI-supported autocomplete to autonomous agents that orchestrate entire codebases.
  • Tool & model landscape: Which models are suitable for complex architectural issues and which for lightning-fast coding in the editor?

Alumni & Studi Talks

What are the Alumni & Studi Talks?

Based on your feedback from the last fair, we have rethought the talks and are not offering them as a series of lectures again, but as a face-to-face format - for a relaxed and informal discussion atmosphere! We have asked the participating companies whether former or current Ostfalia students will be accompanying them as company representatives on the day of the fair. The list contains information about the person, their career at Ostfalia and in the company and at which stand they can be found. They can also be easily recognised on the day of the fair by a blue "Talk to me" button.

What is the goal?

Are you studying xx and wondering whether your qualifications and wishes really suit a particular company or job? Or would you like to find out first-hand what it's like to work in your dream company? Perhaps you are still unsure about what career opportunities your degree programme opens up for you or are currently looking for an exciting working student position? Then talk to people who have already experienced exactly that: With (former) Ostfalia students who have already made their way into professional life and are happy to share their experiences with you.

In dialogue.
