Bachelor's and Master's theses

Student theses can be published on the OPUS publication and university publication server, provided that all conditions for publication are met.

Useful information about the publication process and the general conditions can be found in the following points.

What do we need from you?

  • Your thesis

    Your thesis must fulfil certain requirements for publication. See "What do I need to consider?".

  • A completed and signed declaration of consent as a PDF scan with the following file name: EE_surname.pdf. Please upload the scan in the upload mask.

What needs to be considered?

In order to be able to publish your work on the university publication server, the following requirements must be met:

  • Anonymised library version: (do not include private data and (e-mail) addresses, telephone numbers, interview partners with real names, etc.)
  • File format: PDF/A format
  • Number of files: 1
  • File size: max. 10 MB
  • File name: Surname_Year_KeywordContentWork.pdf

Please note

As we endeavour to operate OPUS as a full-text publication server in the spirit of Open Access, only data records with full texts will be published. We exclude the publication of abstracts or data sets without full texts in the context of the publication of theses.

What do you need to do?

You can now upload your work via our OPUS publication mask (external link, opens in a new window).

The following fields must be completed or ticked:

  • Document type + file
  • Bibliography
  • *Grant of simple right of use
  • Contact details of the author (please include your private e-mail address for any queries)
  • Title of the work
  • Abstract (optional)
  • Authors (first name and surname)
  • Reviewer (first and last name; multiple entries possible)
  • Year of completion
  • Institution awarding the title
  • Faculty
  • Number of pages
  • at least one GND keyword and, if applicable, free keywords
  • DDC subject group
  • Language
  • Licence (detailed information on CC licences can be found here)

Now send us the completed and signed declaration of consent to the library location in Wolfenbüttel or by e-mail as a scan to opus​(at)​ostfalia.de. (opens your email program) You can obtain the PDF form here (PDF, 139.67 KB) (opens in a new window), (not accessible).

Once we have received and checked your data set and the required documents, we will authorise your work.

*Please note

By submitting the data record and uploading it to OPUS, you enter into a commitment! Subsequent deletion of the document or data record is only permitted in absolutely exceptional cases, e.g. criminal prosecution, copyright infringement, etc. We therefore ask you to do the following:

  • Before uploading, please ensure that you own all rights to your work, i.e. text, images, etc.
  • If you have written together with a company, you need the written consent of the company for publication. Please send this to the library together with your declaration of consent.
