What is the lecture about?
Energy supply is at the centre of many debates - often characterised by uncertainty and contradictory statements. At the same time, the effects of the climate crisis and the limits of our planet are becoming increasingly apparent.
But how reliable are statements about renewable energies really?
In this lecture, Bernd Engel provides a scientifically sound insight into the transformation of our energy system. The focus is on
- Stability of electricity grids with a high proportion of renewable energies
- Integration of solar and wind energy
- real challenges vs. widespread misconceptions
Prof Engel has headed the Institute for High Voltage Technology and Electrical Power Systems (elenia) at TU Braunschweig since 2011 and previously held senior positions at SMA Solar Technology, among others.
