Shaping the region together: How do we want to live in the future?

Event , Wolfsburg

Date / duration: 15.04.2026

Time: 17:00 - 19:00

Location: Trade Union Centre Wolfsburg Siegfried-Ehlers-Straße 2

Short input & panel discussion

At the end of our project on the question of how we want to live in the region in the future, we would like to take stock and look ahead at the same time: What issues are you concerned about, what changes are urgently needed? How can the diverse ideas become reality and how can we help shape these processes?

To this end, we would first like to present the results of the future workshops, the barcamp conference and the online survey that we conducted as the Cooperation Centre Universities - Trade Unions as part of our project in a short input.

This will be followed by a panel discussion on different perspectives from research, politics and trade unions on how we want to live in the region in the future and how we can shape change together.

We welcome Prof Dr Susanne Robra-Bissantz (TU Braunschweig, Ecosystem Social Sustainability), Matthias Disterheft (SPD council faction Braunschweig, IG Metall Wolfsburg) and Sören Meier (DGB Jugend SüdOstNiedersachsen).

In cooperation with DGB Region SüdOstNiedersachsen & IG Metall Wolfsburg

Supported with funds from zukunft.niedersachsen, the joint science funding programme of the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture and the Volkswagen Foundation.
