Innovation festival of the Braunschweig-Wolfsburg region

Logo Transfernale

The Transfernale is an innovation festival that puts the innovative strength of the Braunschweig-Wolfsburg region in the spotlight at eight locations from 13 August to 1 October 2026 and is now taking place for the third time after 2023 and 2024. Science and business are brought together here, cooperation is strengthened and important transformation processes are accelerated.

Ostfalia Professor Dr Holger Brüggemann from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is also taking part. Together with Thorsten Thürnau from MKN, he will be a guest at the panel talk "Factory Future: When precision sets new standards" on 17 September 2026 from 4 to 6 pm .

Innovation doesn't always need an obvious product - sometimes it's in the process. MKN shows how a traditional family business is becoming a technology pioneer by radically modernising its production. On 80,000 m² in Wolfenbüttel, highly automated production lines, digital process control and state-of-the-art laser technology are used to create premium cooking technology for the world's top catering establishments. From a machine factory to an Industry 4.0 company: MKN combines masterful craftsmanship with robot-assisted precision, sustainable production and in-house development departments that are constantly setting new standards.

Science meets business: Prof. Dr Holger Brüggemann, Head of the Institute for Production Technology at Ostfalia University in Wolfenbüttel, and Thorsten Thürnau, Technical Director of Production and Logistics at MKN, share their knowledge about the use of robot technology, resource efficiency and the future of the digital factory.
