Ostfalia’s PRoProf project is organising an online information session on Tuesday 19 November 2026, from 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm, on the career path to a professorship at a university of applied sciences.

Professorships at universities of applied sciences (HAW; formerly Fachhochschulen) are characterised by a high degree of personal responsibility, flexibility and a close integration of theory and practice in teaching. During the event, we will provide you with information on the appointment requirements for a professorship at a university of applied sciences, the application and selection process, and an overview of the scope of work and the distinctive features of such institutions.

In a personal discussion, professors from various departments at Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences will talk about their career paths, their day-to-day professional lives and the scope for creativity involved. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to ask the professors specific questions.

Everyone interested in a university professorship as a potential career path is warmly invited – whether you are a student, a PhD candidate, or a PhD graduate with or without practical experience.
