Tasks of the Examination Board of the Faculty of Automotive Engineering at Ostfalia.

  • Organising and ensuring the examinations: It ensures that the examinations are conducted properly and ensures that the provisions of the examination regulations are complied with.
  • Reporting and counselling: The committee regularly informs the faculty about the development of the examinations and makes suggestions for the reform of the examination and study regulations.
  • Contact for examination-related questions: It is available to students in the event of questions and disagreements in connection with examinations.
  • Determination of examination periods and dates: The Examination Board determines the examination periods and dates for oral examinations and written examinations and informs students of these dates in good time.

In addition, the Examination Board can decide on applications for special arrangements and determine the suitability of practical project positions.

How do I register for an exam and labs?

Registration and deregistration for examinations and laboratory courses is always done online via the electronic examination administration, which you can access via the portal (external link, opens in a new window). Registration is only possible within the specified deadlines. You can find the deadlines here.

Do the registration times for laboratory courses differ from the cancellation times for examinations?

What happens if I don't pass an exam?

If you fail an examination, you will be given the opportunity to retake it in accordance with the examination regulations. The number of retakes varies depending on the degree programme.

Can I withdraw from an exam due to illness?

Yes, if you are ill, you must submit a medical certificate to the examination board and the form "F2 Withdrawal from examination". You can find the form in the form centre.

Can I apply for a grade improvement?

In some degree programmes, it is possible to improve your grade after the first attempt. Please check the examination regulations that apply to you. Grades can be improved by re-registering for the examination.

What happens if I try to cheat in an exam?

Attempted cheating will generally result in the examination being graded as "failed" and may result in further measures being taken.
