Ostfalia is a university of applied sciences with a total of four campuses in Lower Saxony. We’ll show you what makes the Suderburg campus so attractive.
Studying at the Ostfalia Suderburg Campus
At the Ostfalia Suderburg Campus, you’ll find a compact campus with modern laboratories in a friendly atmosphere. Close contact with lecturers and fellow students enables you to support one another and work together on practical projects. Nestled in the landscape of the Lüneburg Heath, you’ll find the ideal conditions to concentrate on your studies whilst recharging your batteries.
Two faculties with a practical focus
The Suderburg Campus is home to two faculties that embody a close integration of theory and practice:
- Faculty of Civil and Environmental – specialising in sustainable construction, water management, environmental protection, IT and future-proof infrastructure
- Engineering Faculty of Trade and Social Work – combines business skills with social responsibility and practical experience
Modern laboratories, learning spaces and short distances across the campus create optimal study conditions. There is also a modern hall of residence (external link, opens in a new window) right on the campus – ideal for anyone who values short distances, a strong sense of community and an immediate immersion in student life. Studying in Suderburg has a long tradition: as a centre of learning, the joint municipality looks back on over 170 years of history.
Excellent prospects for your future
Studying in Suderburg prepares you specifically for your career start. Through practical teaching, projects and close links with businesses, local authorities and social organisations, you’ll gain valuable experience whilst you’re still studying.
Graduates from the Suderburg Campus are now working successfully in engineering firms, local government, software companies, retail businesses and the social sector, where they are actively helping to shape the future.
Accommodation, lifestyle and nature in Suderburg
Suderburg offers everything you need for everyday life: supermarkets, bakeries, a gym, a sports club and medical care. For relaxation after your studies, the nearby Hardausee lake is the perfect place for a walk, some downtime or getting active in the great outdoors.
There’s plenty on offer in your free time too: cycle paths and walking trails, student initiatives, campus events and the university sports programme ensure there’s always something different to do. And if you fancy a trip into town, you’re also well connected: Suderburg lies directly on the Hamburg–Hanover railway line. In just seven minutes you can reach Uelzen, with its cinema, cafés, restaurants and shopping facilities. Hamburg and Hanover are about an hour away; Lüneburg is just 40 minutes away.
This makes Suderburg an ideal place to study for anyone who prefers a manageable, affordable and nature-filled environment, whilst still wanting to be right at the heart of things.
