A successful degree programme is not just about specialist knowledge. Just as important are personal, social and methodological skills that will strengthen you during your studies and when you start your career.

Support with study-related challenges

Studying brings with it new challenges: independent learning, time management, exams and personal upheavals. This is exactly where the Ostfalia learning coaches come in. They support you in overcoming challenges such as a lack of learning structures, procrastination tendencies, exam anxiety or personal crisis situations on your own responsibility.

Counselling is voluntary and confidential. In personal discussions or group offers at the faculties, you will receive impulses to strengthen your self-organisation, motivation and problem-solving skills.

Targeted development of key qualifications

Ostfalia's Career Service complements your degree programme with a comprehensive range of seminars in the area of "key qualifications". Here you will train skills that are particularly in demand on the labour market: confident appearance, teamwork, communication skills and methodological competence. If you show particular commitment in these areas, we will recognise your efforts with the Ostfalia Certificate of Key Qualifications.

Academic writing with professional support

You will also receive targeted support for your academic work. The writing workshop supports students in all matters relating to academic reading and writing - both with and without the use of AI applications. Trained student writing tutors offer confidential writing counselling at all locations. Workshops, writing groups and special programmes such as citation and plagiarism consultations help you to develop your texts in a structured and confident manner. Step by step, you will gain more routine and self-confidence in academic writing.

Equal opportunities and individual support

Ostfalia also provides comprehensive advice to students with health impairments or special life situations on compensating for disadvantages, organising their studies and transitioning to a career. The Equal Opportunities Office is there for you if you have questions about balancing your studies and family or about equality-related topics. The aim is to provide equal opportunities and non-discriminatory study programmes for all.
