You can find the presentation for the last information event in summer semester 2025 under "Downloads & Forms".

Admission

Admission to the practical phase requires that all module examinations of the first year of study have been passed. In exceptional cases, the Examination Board may admit students to the practical phase at their request.

The following is also important for admission:

  • participation in the practical phase information event
  • timely registration for the practical phase (see "Registration")
  • valid internship contract
  • Supervision by a competent and authorised teacher from the faculty

Job search & application

When should I start looking for a job? We recommend that you apply for interesting positions around six months before the start of your internship. If you would like to do your internship abroad, you should plan about a year in advance.

Job search tips: Please discuss as specifically as possible with the potential internship centre what your own activities will be. Take into account that you would like to write a thesis in this subject area, if this is relevant to you. Make sure that you are given a high-quality task that suits you, a suitable workplace and that the placement centre names a specialist supervisor.

Do you need support in preparing your application documents or looking for a job? Contact the Career Service and arrange a personal counselling appointment.

Professional supervision

Once you know which practice centre you will be working in and what your own activities will be, find a supervising teacher and ask them to take over the professional supervision from the university. Ask them to confirm their agreement on the application form. You can also choose them later as the examiner for your Bachelor's thesis, but you don't have to.

Conclusion of contract

If you fulfil the admission requirements (or assume that this will be the case in time) and have found a supervising teacher, you can conclude the required contract with the practice placement. The centre usually offers its own contract.

Tips: Make sure that a cancellation period is specified there, that you are released from work for university visits and that a supervisor from the practical placement is specified. Alternatively, we offer you a contract template that contains everything you need to know.

Registration

You must register for the practical phase at the university before starting work. To do this, send the registration form together with a copy of your contract to the Career Service or the Student Service Office in Wolfsburg.

Registration deadline: 31 January (practical phase in the summer semester) or 30 June (practical phase in the winter semester)

Important note on provisional registration: If you are unable to provide all the information on the registration form by the registration deadline, simply complete it as far as possible and send it by email by the deadline. The missing information and, if applicable, the missing contract should be submitted by the start of the practical phase at the latest.

Practical phase report

A practical phase report on the practical phase must be prepared and submitted by e-mail to the practical phase contact person at the Faculty of Business:

- PDF document approx. 10 pages

- Submission promptly and on time. At the latest 3 weeks before the colloquium!

- Please follow the guidelines for the practical phase report.

Certificate

In order for the internship semester to be recorded as completed, you must send your work experience certificate or reference to the SSB or the Career Service after completing your internship. Please also let us know your matriculation number.

You can find a template for the certificate of employment under "Downloads & Forms"

If the SSB has also received confirmation from Ms Dademasch that you have passed the practical phase report, the practical phase will be recorded in the examination administration.
