WHAT? Every semester, the Career Service and International Office organise the "Pathways abroad" information events . Here you will receive information on the topics of internships abroad, semesters abroad, summer schools and voluntary projects as well as tips for your preparation. Students will also talk about their exciting experiences abroad.
The next information events will take place in the winter semester 2025/26:
WHEN and WHERE? The dates will be announced soon.
HOW? It is not necessary to register for these events. All students at the Wolfenbüttel, Suderburg and Salzgitter campuses will receive an email in advance with the details (including an access link for an online event).

BAföG abroad

Scholarships
- the International Student Office can advise you on this
- the DAAD offers various scholarships and a scholarship database
- as part of Erasmus+, there is special funding for students with children and students with disabilities
You may also be able to take advantage of AuslandsBAföG, scholarships and other funding opportunities if you receive remuneration for your internship.

Insurance and taxes
Please note the following information:
Accident and liability insurance
During an internship abroad, students are not covered by German statutory accident insurance. Please contact the company for more information. It may be necessary to take out private insurance. The same applies to liability insurance.
Health and social insurance
If you have any questions, please contact your health insurance company and/or your local tax office in Germany.
Wage tax
If you have any questions, please contact your local tax office in Germany.

Many faculties offer subject-related, inexpensive excursions. Enquire with your faculty! Information about the current summer schools (winter schools) can be obtained from your faculty or the International Student Office.
