  • Supervision by a competent and authorised teacher from the faculty

Job search & application

When should I start looking for a job? We recommend that you apply for interesting positions around nine to six months before the start of your internship. If you would like to do your internship abroad, you should plan about a year in advance.

Tips for finding a job:

  • If possible, the internship semester should be carried out in areas of activity that correspond to the field of study or can be regarded as related subject areas.
  • Therefore, please discuss as specifically as possible with the potential internship centre what your own activities will be.
  • Take into account if you would like to write a thesis on this subject area.
  • Make sure you are given a high-quality task that suits you and a suitable workplace
  • Make sure that the work placement centre names a specialist supervisor.

Do you need help preparing your application documents or looking for a job? Contact the Career Service and arrange a personal counselling appointment.

Professional supervision

Once you know which practice centre you will be working in and what your own activities will be, find a supervising teacher and ask them to take over the professional supervision from the university. Have their confirmation confirmed on the application form. At the same time, they will ensure that the work placement is suitable. You can also choose them later as the examiner for your Bachelor's thesis, but you don't have to.

Conclusion of contract

If you fulfil the admission requirements (or assume that this will be the case in time) and have found a supervising teacher, you can conclude the required contract with the practice placement. The centre usually offers its own contract.

Tips: Make sure that a cancellation period is specified there, that you are released from work for university visits and that a supervisor at the internship location is specified. Alternatively, we offer you a contract template that contains everything you need to know.
